A Lagos High Court in lkeja, has fixed June 11, for the arraignment of a stockbrokers, Adegboyega Adewale and Idris Asunmo, who was charged before the court by the Special Fraud Unit of the Police.
The defendants were docked on a two count charge which borders on conspiracy and stealing.
According to the prosecutor, Mr. Emmanuel Jackson, the defendants between January 2006 and May, 2007, conspired amongst themselves to steal about eleven million naira, property of Morgan Capital Securities Ltd, formally known as International Capital Securities Ltd.
Mr. Jackson pointed out that the offence is contrary to section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
The first defendant counsel, Mr. Solomon Okoye asked the court for short adjourned date to enable the second defendant counsel to appear before the court while informing the court that the counsel is bereaved.
The prosecutor did not oppose the oral application.
The trial judge, Justice Josephine Oyefeso granted the defense counsel prayer saying that in the interest of justice, the second defendant should not be denied of legal representation.
